Hi, my name is Sam Shi, and I’m a LA-based singer-songwriter, producer, DJ, and multi-instrumentalist, and a fellow Recording Academy member.

Born in Honolulu, raised in Sweden, and with roots in New York's underground music scene, I make music where dance floors and confessionals meet, blending electronic production with live band energy.

This year's submissions reflect that range. "Judgement" and "PETTY" are up for Best Alternative Music Performance, and "Perfectionism," featuring a guitar solo by Eric, is up for Best Rock Performance. All three come from a body of work about shadow work: the judgment, pettiness, and perfectionism we'd rather not look at in ourselves.

Rounding it out is "What U Said," my collaboration with Enamour on Crosstown Rebels, submitted for Best Dance/Electronic Recording.
